The original intros, by each of our truly awesome Team members: Jerry, Catherine & Scott:
My Chinese Zodiac sign is the dog
I have always had dogs in my family. I have had multiple Golden Retrievers and Bernese Mountain Dogs. Besides just dogs I have had 2 cats, fish, snakes. I have taken care of lots of different types of animals. I am young and active and can run with your dog or sit by them and provide company. I workout consistently and consider my self strong enough to handle even the biggest dogs. That being said, big dogs, small dogs, I love them all. Dogs are so special to me because they have this intuition, this sense that people do not have. I guess this is why they are considered man's best friend... well and that they are so cute! I want to make your dog excited to see me and for it to know good times are ahead when I arrive!
Hi everyone! I'm Catherine and I'm so excited to be a part of Girl Meets Dog!
I grew up in Glenview, the northwest suburbs of Chicago and moved to the city to study Vocal Performance at Columbia College in 2010. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music and since then have been singing all over the city with a slew of different bands and projects. I started walking dogs and loved it so much that I continued it for 2 years until I took a break to work on music more intently. But I started to miss all the beautiful dogs and cats I cared for so so much! And that's why I'm joining Girl Meets Dog as a boarder/house sitter! I'm so excited to meet your pooches and give them a comfortable and safe place to stay while you're out of town. Most of all I'm going to be so happy to have a companion staying with me so I can enjoy the best of both worlds, music and pups!
My name is Scott Hoecker, and I am thrilled to be a part of Girl Meets Dog!
I grew up in the Western Suburbs, spending most of my time in the woods behind the house and wishing my family's TV could get the channel with Power Rangers. Of course now I'm glad that it couldn't, because all that time in the woods fostered my love for the outdoors. Whenever I came inside for the night, I would always have plenty of company in my family's many pets. Over the years we've had 7 cats (4 currently), an gentle giant of an Alaskan malamute, Nicky, when I was very young, and a goofy Greyhound Rescue I grew up with, Sean.
When I moved to the city to study trumpet performance at DePaul in 2007, the urban environment and lack of pets in the dorms was a big change. It was the first time in my life I didn't have an animal to come home to!
I've gotten used to the city, and really grown to love it. The musical atmosphere here in Chicago is unlike any other I've experienced. It keeps me striving to get better and better, which means that I'm usually inside practicing instead of being outside! I also haven't had a schedule which could support a dog of my own yet.
Which is why I can't wait to meet all of yours! I'm so excited to give your pups the exercise and outdoors time that they (and I!) need!
